Our Story

After a personal journey and shared frustration with hair care, Wendy and Callie—an ambitious business coach and a dedicated chemist—decided to establish Gold Butter together. Both switched to natural hair after suffering burns from chemical relaxers.

Their journey toward self-acceptance and embracing their natural hair came with trial-and error, revealing how much misinformation exists around natural hair care. They noticed that many popular routines are unnecessarily complex and time-consuming, and with Gold Butter, they want to change that narrative.

This motivated their shared passion for fighting misinformation. After extensive testing and feedback from family, friends, and supporters, they launched two science-based products: the 3-in-1 leave-in moisturiser for type 4 hair and for type 2 and 3 hair. Gold Butter makes natural hair simple, effective, and satisfying for all curl types, from wavy to coily hair.

Our mission is to debunk the myth that caring for curly and coily hair is a tiring and difficult process.
